St. Joseph’s Cathedral Parish has a marriage bureau. It was started in 2000 under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Joseph D’mello the then Parish Priest of the Cathedral. The purpose of the Marriage bureau in the Parish is to help our parishioners to find suitable partners, to have a healthy couple relationships and thus be able to create Catholic homes that last till the end instead of having recourse to various other social media apps that doesn’t last long.
Late Mr. S. Antharaj was the in-charge of the marriage bureau. He was sitting weekly once on Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 pm. After the death of Mr. S. Antharaj, Mrs. Mary Fathima N. A. took over as the in-charge of the parish marriage bureau. This facility continued to the parishners during Fr. Mari Joseph, Fr. K. Anthony William, and Fr. N. T. Joseph time also. At present it is functioning smoothly under the guidance of the Cathedral Parish Priest, Fr. Staney D’ Almeida. The timing is on Saturdays from 6:00pm-8:00pm. The Registration fee is Rs. 200/- only. Documents required for matrimonial registration is as follows:
1. Recent Baptism Certificate
2. Parish Priest’s Letter
3. Church Annulment & Civil Divorce Certificates (If Second Marriage)
4. Death Certificate of first partner (If Widow or Widower)
Note: The validity of this application form is for one year only. After the completion of one year, you may renew the request for the matrimonial introduction service with a new application form.
