Novena to St. Philomena

Leader: In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

All: Amen

All: I believe in God, the Father Almighty/ Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ/ His only Son our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit/ and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate/ was crucified/ died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day/ He rose again. He ascended into heaven/ and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again/ to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit/ the Holy Catholic Church/ the communion of saints/ the forgiveness of sins/ the resurrection of the body/ and the life everlasting. Amen.

Leader: God our Loving Father, we thank you for giving us St. Philomena as our intercessor. By the virtue of her faith and love, hear our prayers. Help us to grow in your faith and love in all our trails and tribulations, pains and sorrows.

Leader: Gracious Lord, you have granted all favours to St. Philomena. Grant us all our good desires and aspirations. Help us to overcome poverty, unemployment, afflictions and all our other needs in accordance to your will.

Leader: Merciful Lord, you were the strength and consolation to St. Philomena all through her life. Hear the prayers of those who suffer due to various sickness. Grant us necessary patience and endurance in our pain. Console us in our sufferings and help us to have good health of mind and body, and thus we praise you always.

All: O Holy virgin and martyr, St. Philomena/ you are honoured everywhere/ for your faith and miraculous power to obtain graces. We bless the Lord for all the graces. He has bestowed upon you during your life/ and especially at your death. You have shown us the way to God, by shedding your blood for the sake of faith. O most beloved daughter of Christ/ place our petitions to Jesus (say the petitions). We praise and glorify God/ for the honour and power/ with which He has crowned you. We implore you to obtain for us from Him/ the graces we ask through your intercession. Amen
